Laying the Groundwork for Reliable Wind Power Infrastructure

The project involved the construction of a 0.85 MW Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) Foundation No. 65, along with the associated substation works, for Kintech Synergy (P) Ltd. in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

Located in one of India’s most prominent wind corridors, the project was executed to provide a durable foundation and reliable power infrastructure to support wind energy generation in desert terrain conditions.

Scope and Nature of Work

The project involved construction of a reinforced concrete foundation for a 0.85 MW wind turbine along with associated civil works for the substation area. These works were required to support turbine installation and ensure stable power evacuation.

The scope included excavation, RCC foundation construction, and alignment of the anchor cage as per Kintech’s turbine specifications. In addition, foundations for the transformer and control room were constructed to integrate with the substation.

Cable trenching, earthing pits, and approach road preparation were also carried out to link the turbine foundation with the substation. All works were completed in compliance with Kintech’s structural and safety standards.

Engineering Execution and Quality Control

The project was executed under the supervision of Kintech Synergy’s technical team, ensuring precision in foundation geometry, material strength, and installation readiness.

Every stage—from soil stabilization to concreting and curing—was closely monitored to meet strength and durability benchmarks. Concrete mix design and reinforcement detailing followed the standards required for wind turbine and substation load performance.

Stringent testing protocols, including cube strength tests and alignment verification, ensured structural reliability and long-term performance under high wind and temperature variations typical to Jaisalmer.

Outcome and Sectoral Significance

The successful completion of the 0.85 MW WTG Foundation No. 65 with Substation established a reliable structural base for Kintech’s wind power operations in Rajasthan. The foundation and substation together form a critical part of the project’s power generation and evacuation network, enabling consistent energy output and operational stability. This project reinforces A&T Infracon’s expertise in wind energy civil infrastructure, demonstrating engineering capability and execution excellence in India’s renewable energy growth.

Adapting to Desert Terrain and Climatic Challenges

Executing construction in the desert landscape of Jaisalmer required strategic planning to overcome challenges such as shifting sand, high temperatures, and limited water availability.

Specialized curing techniques and controlled casting schedules were adopted to maintain concrete quality in dry and windy conditions. Equipment and manpower were mobilized efficiently to ensure smooth execution without compromising on precision or timeline.
