Composite Earthen Bundh cum Ditch
Engineering the First Line of Defence
The Composite Earthen Bundh cum Ditch project was executed along the Indo–Pakistan International Border from BP No. 113 (Katao) to BP No. 51 (Bundhtip) in the Jammu Sector. Spanning 26.762 kilometers, this ₹101.78 crore project was commissioned by the Border Security Force (BSF) to fortify India’s western frontier.
A&T Infracon designed and constructed a robust combination of earthen embankments, security ditches, bituminous roads, and RCC Nakas (G+1) to ensure operational mobility, surveillance capability, and physical deterrence in one integrated system.

Building Resilience on the Frontlines
The project required a balance between civil engineering precision and defense-grade security considerations. Our teams worked in high-security zones under BSF supervision, maintaining strict operational discipline and coordination across multiple agencies.
Construction involved large-scale earthwork for embankment stabilization, reinforced ditches for intrusion prevention, and RCC structures for border personnel movement. The integrated bituminous road provided all-weather access for patrol vehicles and rapid response units.
Technical Highlights and Strategic Execution
A&T Infracon implemented advanced geotechnical and hydrological solutions to ensure long-term durability across variable soil and floodplain conditions in the Jammu sector.
The project features a 26.762 km composite structure designed as a dual-purpose system combining earthen embankments and security ditches. It includes a bituminous road with integrated RCC Naka (G+1) structures, built along a 135-foot-wide fortified land strip running parallel to the Indo–Pak border fence. The design ensures flood resistance through controlled drainage and erosion protection, maintaining durability in challenging terrain. Every phase was executed with seamless coordination between the BSF and CPWD, ensuring strict compliance with defense standards and uncompromised site safety.
A&T Infracon’s Role in Border Infrastructure Development
With this landmark ₹101.78 crore project, A&T Infracon reaffirmed its position as a trusted defense infrastructure partner capable of delivering large-scale, high-security civil works under challenging logistical and regulatory environments. This project showcased A&T Infracon’s core expertise in border fortification and defense infrastructure, integrating complex road and embankment engineering within a single fortified system. It involved executing structural and civil works in high-security, sensitive military zones, where precision, compliance, and operational coordination were paramount. The team demonstrated exceptional project management capabilities under restricted-access conditions, ensuring timely delivery while adhering to stringent defense and environmental protocols.
Safety, Precision, and National Commitment
Safety and precision governed every stage — from excavation to structural reinforcement. Our teams deployed 24x7 security, material testing, and strict quality controls to meet both CPWD and BSF standards.
Beyond engineering, this project represents a commitment to national security, providing India’s border forces with reliable access, defense-ready infrastructure, and enhanced perimeter control in one of the country’s most sensitive zones.
