Gujarat Fluorochemicals 2.1 MW wind foundation, Dangri
Building Strong Foundations for Wind Energy Generation
The project involved the construction of a 2.1 MW Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) Foundation No. 19 for Gujarat Fluorochemicals Ltd. at Dangri, District Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
This work formed part of the company’s renewable energy initiative aimed at enhancing wind power capacity across Rajasthan’s wind corridor. The foundation was designed to support a large-capacity turbine installation, ensuring structural integrity and performance reliability in challenging desert terrain.
Scope and Nature of Work
The project covered major civil works required for developing a wind turbine foundation for a 2.1 MW installation. The scope began with excavation and soil stabilization to prepare the base for structural loading.
Reinforced concrete foundation construction was carried out as per design, followed by anchor cage installation and alignment in line with the turbine manufacturer’s specifications. Backfilling, compaction, and surface finishing were then completed to ensure foundation stability.
Earthing and conduit provisions were also integrated for grounding and electrical connectivity. All works were executed in accordance with Gujarat Fluorochemicals’ engineering guidelines and standard industry practices.
Engineering Execution and Quality Control
The project was executed under strict technical supervision, ensuring precise alignment, material quality, and dimensional accuracy.
Concrete design and reinforcement detailing adhered to MORTH and IS code standards for structural durability under cyclic wind loads. Regular quality checks—including concrete cube testing, reinforcement inspections, and level verification—were conducted at every stage of execution.
On-site field teams ensured that every aspect of construction met the required tolerances, contributing to a robust and long-lasting foundation for turbine installation.
Outcome and Renewable Energy Impact
The successful completion of the 2.1 MW WTG Foundation No. 19 established a strong and stable base for Gujarat Fluorochemicals Ltd.’s wind power generation unit at Dangri. The foundation provides reliable structural support for high-performance wind turbines, contributing to Rajasthan’s expanding renewable energy capacity. This project reflects A&T Infracon’s expertise in precision-driven wind power infrastructure, reinforcing its role in advancing India’s transition toward sustainable energy.
Overcoming Terrain and Environmental Constraints
Located in the arid desert region of Jaisalmer, the site presented unique challenges such as loose sandy soil, high wind velocity, and extreme temperature fluctuations.
The construction team adopted specialized techniques for soil stabilization and controlled curing to maintain strength and prevent cracking. Work was planned around local climatic patterns to ensure safe execution and consistent quality despite demanding site conditions.
